Happy to write it. Each email in the sequence pushes toward one action, so I need three things first:
- Who signs up, and why? What do new subscribers expect, and where do they sign up (a lead magnet, your site, a social link)?
- The one action you want new subscribers to take. Which action best predicts they stick around or buy? For example reading a first issue, replying, joining a community or buying something.
- Is there a welcome offer? A discount, freebie or bonus, or none. I won't make one up, so "none" is a fine answer.
Optional, but they make the emails much better: - Links the emails need (signup page, download, product page). Otherwise I'll use [placeholders]. - Facts about the action people hesitate over, like cost, trial terms or how to cancel. I won't guess these. - Two or three past emails in your voice. A short description of your voice works too; otherwise I'll write plain and friendly. - Testimonials or numbers you can back up.
You'll get a five email sequence with timing, subject lines, preview text, body copy and setup notes, for your approval before anything goes into your email platform.
